Summer Junior Programme

Summer, sun and language course: create unforgettable moments for your children with the junior programme of the Academy of Languages.

Every year, children from six to 15 years of age from over 90 nations find their way to Heidelberg to not only learn German or English in age-appropriate lessons at the Heidelberg language school, but also to make new friends and spend the summer holidays together with children from all corners of the world.

After the language course, there is a balanced and varied lunch in the canteen before the colourful leisure programme begins: Excursions to the museum are also part of the programme, as are hikes, boat trips or creative workshops.

• In the German courses, participants are divided into the age groups 6-8, 9-11 and 12-15 years. Absolute beginners can start on 01 July or 29 July, learners with previous knowledge can join the programme every Monday. Courses are offered at levels A1-B2 (C1 on request). 
• The English courses are also divided into age groups 6-8, 9-11 and 12-15 years, and are offered at levels A2-B2. For absolute beginners, we offer introductory courses on request.
• The placement test is on the first day of the course.
• The structure and content of the lessons are geared to the respective age groups. Participants in all courses are taught by experienced and qualified language teachers in modern and bright classrooms.
• The programme ends on 09 August. The last possible starting date is 05.08.
• The maximum group size is 15.

The lunch for the participants is prepared by a professional caterer who specialises in catering for day-care centres and schools. The chef strictly adheres to the current standards of hygiene, sustainability and verifiable origin of the ingredients. Please let us know about food intolerances or special dietary requests such as vegetarian food or halal food when registering.
